Special Children

As the mother of two, I am very happy to have my two boys in my life. And for many of you, having a family and children of your own is a very special thing. But what if you were or are challenged with the reality of having a child that is born with autism ? Having a child can be tough enough but to have one that has special needs as well can be even tougher. I have had the pleasure of meeting children with autism and they are truly wonderful kids but they do take extra work and time just because of their condition. For parents who were not expecting an autistic child it takes a little getting used to it and some extra education on their part to care for a child with ASD. Trust me when I say you are not alone, there are a lot of parents out there who get frustrated trying to find helpful information and support to raise an autistic child. Fortunately there is a new site that has been specifically designed as a resource for parents who have children with autism. The Autism Support Network is a wealth of information that has been put together not just for parents but for professionals who are involved in the care of autistic children. This new site is a great place to chat in forums, find support groups and get a tremendous amount of advice for those rough times while working with your autistic child. It is also a great place to share information and experiences along with photo's to create a local supportive community. If you have been placed into the position of caring for an autistic child then you need to take the time and check out the Autism Support Network. It could make your life a little less hectic.
